Chaos Renegade #6

Hi all,

It been a bit longer than I had hoped since my last post...but here we are again with a continuation of the Chaos Renegades that I have been working on lately.

This was actually supposed to be Renegade #7....but I got so frustrated with the other one I have started that I had to put it down and pick this one up in its place.  As it was the complex colors on the other that were driving me crazy I opted for colors that I have a better handle on for this one.

Red and Grey are pretty straight forward right!?!

So here he is with his mates....individual pics are below.

Get out of the Basement and Go meet a new friend!!!

Hi all,

Just a quick post to support the new effort that is being put into the Oldhammer Opponent Finder (OOF).

"What is the Oldhammer Opponent Finder?" you ask...?

Well listen young padawan...The OOF is an amazing tool that will help you to break out of the endless cycle of painting armies (or not) and never having an opponent to field them against!!

Basically the OOF is a Google map on which Oldhammer types from around the world have marked their location in hopes of finding someone near by to game with.  This effort dates to the Earliest months of the Oldhammer Movement and was started by Skarsnik back in the days before the FB group.  It was used by many of the OG Oldhammerers but as the community expanded and "oozed" across the many social media platforms available its usage slumped off.  Thanks to some persistent effort by Sean of Sean's Wargames Corner this map is seeing a resurgence in usage and I want to support that effort as much as possible...because I too am always looking for new folks to game with.  This is particularly important here in North America where the Oldhammer Community is quite wide spread.

Anyway...here is a link to the map...I'll also add it to my side bar.

If you haven't already take a minute and get yourself listed on the map....and who know you may have someone to Oldhammer with right next door!

Cheers,

Blue

Chaos Renegade #5: The Bald Eagle Marine....

Hi all,

Back with another Chaos Renegade Space Marine for you today.  This one was sold as a Tzeentch Renegade and comes with the obvious Tzeentch trait of a birds head.  But...as I have explained before I do not feel constrained to limit my painting to the prescribed color schemes of the four Chaos Powers....and I certainly didn't follow the "rules" with this figure.

...instead, in this case, I looked to nature for inspiration.

Chaos Renegade #4

Hi all,

My wife flew the coop this weekend for a well earned weekend away as a Mother's day treat.  That left me with a couple of long days managing my two kids...but it also left me to my own devices Friday and Saturday night...and that means that I got some painting done.

Renegades are still proving a treat to paint so I carried on with Renegade #4.  This is a really bad ass looking figure.  His helmet is in the form of a Bulls head and he is holding is mighty power fist in the are.  For colors I opted for a rust red for the main armor plates edged with a light green-grey.

Here he is with the Squad to date.  Individual pictures below.

Chaos Renegade #3

Hi all,

Quick post today to share the third Chaos Renegade that I have completed for my slow growing squad.  For this one I picked one of the Khorne Renegades but decided to give him a completely un-Khorne-like paint job...for the reasons described in my previous post.

This one was knocked out fairly quickly while I was completing a long online training for work...I'm not 100% pleased with how the blue bits turned out...some of the ribbing seems a bit rushed.  But...its done...varnished and based so there is no going back now...:)

Well...here he is with his buddies...and individual shots below.

BTW....I still hate painting these terrible backpacks.  I have only carried on with these because they were already glued on and primed....and I'm a lazy man...:)   I can't wait to move onto my Renegades that have the metal or more modern backpacks...these are such a Pain in the ass to paint.

Anyway...

Cheers!
